From the get-go I wanted to give you the cheapest, easiest and quickest way to start your own online business…

We’re almost there.

The last bit to look at today is a cheap, easy and quick way to get potential customers to visit your website.

So, right to it…

A free and easy way to get potential customers

For now, forget PPC, SEO and all the other acronyms that get thrown around when it comes to generating website traffic.

Yes, they’re useful and can turn a small business into a veritable giant. (I’ll explain how you can find out more about those tomorrow.)

But for now, I want to show you how you can do this on a bargain bin budget. I want to show you just how easy this is…

So, here are 3 ways to start generating traffic to your new website that are absolutely free.

First, set up a Twitter account and start following people.

Visit www.twitter.com to set up your account. Register your Twitter address as the same name as your website. Then spend a while on Twitter adding people and inviting others to follow you. When people follow you, you can tell them about your website and start generating traffic.

You can do the same on www.myspace.com  and www.facebook.com. It’s all free and the more the merrier.

Sorted.

Next, do a Google search on your chosen topic and find people who are doing a similar thing to you.

Contact them by email and politely ask if they will put up a link for your website on theirs in return for you putting a link to their website on yours.

This will help generate traffic from their website to yours.

And it’ll also help you get involved with the people in your niche – this could well lead to possible joint venture projects in the future.

All good for business.

Finally, (and I briefly touched on this last week) spread ‘word of mouth’…

This can be seriously effective in generating traffic to your website. Contact your family, friends and work colleagues and tell them all that you’ve launched a new website.

Direct them to it and ask them to tell their friends. Remember, these are your family and friends so chances are they’ll be on your side and will want to help you.

As word spreads to their own friends you’ll start to see more and more traffic to your website and in turn more and more people will start buying your product.

OK. We’re pretty much up and running.

So, where do you go from here?

Well, if you follow each element that I’ve laid out here, you’ll have a website, you’ll have some content, you’ll have something to sell and you’ll be generating some traffic…

What you’ve actually got is the beginning of your own online business.

You’ll have started something that, as it grows and develops, could start earning you some serious money.

But I realise I’ve gone through this pretty quickly. I did so really to give you a good overview of just how easy, how cheap and how quick it can be to get yourself set up…

And hopefully what you’ve got here will give you a good grounding.

Naturally, there is a lot more you can do to make an online home business even better. And you’ll be glad to know that over the past few weeks I’ve been putting together a guide on the subject that covers the lot.
