How To Create and Sell Your Own E-book

It’s a lot easier to create and sell an e-book than you realise…

And it’s a lot cheaper than you might think to set up.

In fact, you can pretty much do it for nothing.

It essentially comes down to three elements.

Hugh covers two with the questions he wrote in with…

“What I’d like to know is all about creating an e-book and fulfilling the order.

“What’s the best (and cheapest) software for e-book creation, how do I organise it so that the customer can pay and get a one-time supply and not put the code on Facebook or something so that the whole world can do the same for nothing.

“Big congrats and thanks on Shortcut Confidential, all your stuff, emails, guides are really useful.”

So, Hugh’s got it spot on there with two factors: software for the creation and the actual fulfilment of the order.

But if I only answered those questions, I’d be selling you a bit short.

You see, I bet before you think about those problems…

You’re thinking about the content of the e-book itself, right?

So, today I want to let you in on a very simple way to gather content for an e-book.

Then tomorrow, we’ll look at the software you need to make and sell your e-book.

But first, I need to insult you a little bit…

Why it’s important I insult you

I know it’s a bit rude, and not the nicest idea… but fact is you’re not entirely individual.

Hey, don’t get me wrong: neither am I.

Sure you have your own personal tastes, ideas and opinions, but out there in the big bad world are a ton of people who share very similar tastes, ideas and opinions with you.

And on top of that, though you might not think it, there are a lot of people out there who share similar problems to you too.

Good news is: that’s a really good thing.

Because you can use those similarities to help you create content for your e-book.

An example…

Say you love cooking, but you can’t afford all those fancy ingredients Oliver and Co. assume everyone has lying about in their larder.

Night after night, as you make tea for your family, you’re coming up with different takes on Oliver’s cooking that get around your lack of posh ingredients.

See where I’m going with this?

You’re not the only one with this problem.

Believe me, there are a ton of people out there who are in the very same boat.

And those people would be very interested in hearing about how you put together these alternative versions – how you solve the problem.

Very quickly we’re starting to see the potential for an e-book, perhaps ’How to cook like a rich TV chef on a real family’s budget’.

All you’ve done here is taken your everyday knowledge – knowledge you use to solve an everyday problem – but you’ve turned it into a saleable commodity.

This same principle can be applied to so many areas of life.

All you need to do is look at the problems you face on a day to day basis in a specific area and consider how you deal with them…

Explain yourself in a simple and clear way and include plenty of examples, useful links and practical, detailed advice and you’re on the way to having some great content for your e-book.

So, if you haven’t got past the content stage of an e- book just yet, take some time today to think about any problems in your life that you deal with all the time.

Start analysing your solutions and get down some notes. Don’t be daunted by writing too much right now…

Just get down a little bit and you’ll soon start to run with it.
