Making your website work for you…

That’s the aim of the game today.

Before you even think about selling your own products or services through your website, you can set it up so that you’ve got an extra income stream being generated for free.

In a series of free step-by-step videos, business opportunities expert Glenn Fisher shows you how to build an online business from scratch at no cost.

I respect your privacy and will never pass on your email address to anyone else.

You see, it’s possible to place ads on your website that generate easy profits for you every time a visitor to your site clicks on one.

And setting this up is a really is a simple process.

Just follow the step by step outline I’ve detailed for you here, you should be set up and ready to profit in less than 10 minutes.

Ready? Let’s go for it…

Set yourself up for easy advert profits

To create the adverts you’ll be placing on your website we’re going to be looking at a Google application called AdSense…

But before you can set up an AdSense account you need to open a Gmail email account.

This is simple to do. Visit www.gmail.com and register for an account. Follow the simple guidelines, entering your details and you’ll be able to open a Gmail account in no time.

Once you’ve done that you’re all set to set up your AdSense account.

To do so visit www.google.com/adsense

You can register for an account using you new Gmail account.

Might take a day or two for Google to approve your application but once you’ve set up your AdSense account it’s time to generate some profit grabbing ads…

But before we look at how you can generate free, cash generating adverts for your website, it is worth mentioning something…

Whilst you’re setting up your adverts, you’ll see all sorts of strange technical words and phrases that, to be perfectly honest with honest with you, even I don’t understand.

The fact of the matter is: you don’t need to know all that technical stuff.

Obviously, in time you can explore and start using the application to its full potential. But today, all we’re interested in is generating a tool that can make us some easy money.

The reason I point this out is because I don’t want you to be put off by all that technical stuff…

I did this myself a while back to see how it works and how easy it is to do – I had no experience and just bumbled my way through.

But after only a few minutes of setting up the adverts on a simple test website I’d already started generating income.

£2 in my account in minutes. Just think, if you only got £2 a day that’s around £60 a month. For essentially doing nothing that’s a great wad of extra cash that you can use to develop even more income streams.

And believe me, £2 a day is seriously conservative. The potential with this is huge.

So, there’s absolutely no reason why with your own real website, selling your product or service, you can’t generate a regular stream of extra profit.

OK. So now we’ve established that you’ve got what it takes to do this, let’s do it…

Generating income adverts the easy way

I’m going to keep this simple…

Ignore all the bits that aren’t important and just concentrate on setting up your website ads.

First up, in your AdSense account click on the ‘Adsense Setup Tab’.

The first option you’ll see is ‘Adsense for Content’. This is what you want. Don’t worry about the other options for now, you can explore them at your leisure.

Click on ‘Adsense for Content’.

You’ll be taken to a page that says Ad Unit and Link Unit.

The application should default to Ad Unit – you’ll see a green dot highlighted next to where it says Ad Unit.

At this point, all you need to do is… nothing!

The default setting is exactly what we need. So just click Continue.

You’ll be taken to a page that allows you to format the adverts you’re generating.

Thing is: you don’t need to.

But if you want you can change where the adverts appear – across the top or bottom of your site or down the sides – it’s up to you.

You can also change the colours of the adverts so that they correspond to your site, but as I say, this isn’t important at this stage.

So, once you’re ready to do so, click continue.

You’ll be taken to a page to sort out something called ‘channels’.

This is a page for another time and another article. You don’t need to worry about it now.

Basically, it’s all about how you monitor the performance of your adverts but the application already has a basic tracking function and that’s all you need at this stage.

So, just click continue.

I said this would be easy.

Next you’ll be asked to enter a name for the group of adverts you generate.

You can call it what you like but I would recommend including the date somewhere in there so if you generate more adverts you know which ones you’re dealing with.

Once you’ve selected a name, click on the button that says Submit and Get Code.

Bang! That’s pretty much it.

In the grey box you’ll see a load of strange symbols – that’s the HTML code for your adverts. And that’s what has the potential to generate you a nice, regular stream of extra website income.

All you need to do now is copy that code and place it on to your website using which ever website design software you use.

You can play about with it to position it correctly. I find that when you’re trying to build a website like this it’s best to fiddle around with a bit of trial and error.

Once you’ve entered the code and uploaded your site to the internet as normal, the adverts will appear on your site.

Maximising the impact of your adverts

That’s it, your adverts are set up and the work is done. You can just sit back and watch the money pile up.

Not bad for a few minutes work, right?

But one last thing to mention…

Earlier this week I mentioned IFancyAFryUp.co.uk, a website set up by one Shortcut Reader to provide visitors with a comprehensive catalogue of UK cafés that offer a decent fry up.

A ton of you checked out the site, entered your own local cafe and joined the mailing list. The chap behind the website emailed me to pass on his thanks.

He’s already set up Google Adsense for his website, but didn’t get any clicks on the adverts.

I think one of the reasons for this is that the adverts are only displayed on certain pages of the website. And most importantly, they’re not displayed on the home page.

When it comes to the web, people don’t hang about…

As soon as they land on your homepage, they could soon be gone again. So, to maximise your chances of getting an ad click (and picking up a profit), you need to make sure Google Ads are relatively prominent on every page including your homepage.

Do that and I think you’ll start to see more clicks and in turn… a bit more free cash.
